John Hanrahan is one of the stalwart veteran band leaders of the
Chicago Rock and Jazz Scene. John's incarnations as a player
spans the full range of musical genres. For many years John's
Band, Why Not played all over the United Sates and a sampling of some
of that is playing for you right now in the player. John has
been a Sideman-Drummer with some of the most influential figures in
Jazz and Rock. In some ways he's a Jack-of-all-trades when it
comes to assembling a musical unit. But no matter what he
assembles as a band leader, it's always an incredible sound with a
very solid rhythm section that always gets a crowd hooked on what
they're hearing. So, hiring Mr. Hanrahan for the purposes of
getting a customized sound created for your event is the right thing
to do or if you just want to get a rock night for a night if you're a
club owner. Not only is John one of Chicago's best drummers,
