He's a veteran of earlier Rush St. days where he performed regularly at Pat Haran's Upstairs Hideaway to packed crowds 4 nights a week along with his northside mainstay, Chicago's legendary and venerable No Exit Cafe of East Rogers Park, which during its heyday was one of the most exclusive folk stages in the country.
