Multiple Canadian Blues Awards Winner - Kevin Mark
After two very successful album releases both replete with big horn
band arrangements, the first, Rollin' The Dice
in 2004 produced by Juno Award Winner Jack de Keyser at Toronto's
venerable Liquid Studio's owned by Alec Fraser and the second album
Cuttin' Loose which scored high marks in the International Blues Radio
market and topped Frances Blues Charts sitting comfortably in the number 1
slot for two consecutive months in June and July 2007 amidst rave reviews
from all over, Kevin Mark once again proves his Star Power. None at
this point can deny that Kevin Mark has arrived. It's been a journey
of destiny which he well deserves and why Worldwide TMA has the distinct

strongest Blues Artist Rosters in the world. What you'll get with a

beat swing band with a big sound.

BUT...is there an award called - PARTY BAND OF THE YEAR?
Since the age of twelve when Kevin Mark received a tenor saxophone as
a gift and then later shifting to guitarist and vocalist as his
musical horizons began to broaden, to say that Kevin Mark is a
"NATURAL" is in our estimation a complete and total understatement.
Anybody who visits this profile can plainly hear that Kevin Mark in any of
his permutations, whether 5, 6 or 7 piece band units complete with fat horn
arrangements, is the kind of act that delivers a big sound which
translates into one thing...FUN! THIS IS GOOD TIMES MUSIC AT IT'S
BEST!
Here's a video below taken from an early evening concert in Montreal. Spend 3 minutes with the Big Guy
and his band as they take a tour through the Blues Musical styles of
Bourbon Street and Chicago which is the heart of the "ROOTS" where
most of Kevin's originals and some of his classic covers originate from
The audio of this is incredible and demonstrates the huge sound this
band makes which is attributable to this bands mastery of the live setting and Mr. Marks attention to detail.
What anybody who listens to Kevin's music will find is that in some
ways, he's a traditionalist who has an edge. Plus when he rips into some
of his originals they have such a big round sound which is well accented
with Kevin's great voice. Mr. Mark has played and delighted crowds
as large as 20,000 like at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, which
have all agreed that the big man is really a joy to watch. Not just
anybody gets a spot like that.
Kevin Mark is more than just a well managed and polished impresario of
the blues, he's a great entertainer as well. So when he arrives at
your door to entertain your crowd for a weekend, the first night crowd
will be back with their friends for the second and third legs of the
booking because they'll not be able to get enough of this act.
Many years ago in Chicago, like back in the late seventies and
eighties, there was an act called Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows who
played in all the great Blues venues across the country and the big
festivals too. Anyone who has seen this show knows what we're
talking about. Sadly Twist passed on and there was no one to fill
his shoes. But the time has come to put that crown on a new head.
Kevin Mark is that man.
Us folks here in Chicago know our blues. As the last of the authentic,
legendary bluesmen slip away, there'll be scarcely enough great acts to
pass the baton on which will justify the sacrifice of the masters we have
all come to know and love. Sure, many think, it's easy to play the
blues especially all the would-be blues imitators.
Kevin Mark is not one of these, he's the real article. Listen to the songs
in flash player, that says it all.
